The Business Applications team (BA) is as busy as ever with projects to support CDx, Standards, and Group. Below are a few recent highlights of completed, in-flight, and planned efforts.
In August, the BA team finished implementing “Information technology controls” for SAP ECC. These controls safeguard the system and standardize other important IT-related procedures to help CDx remain compliant, safe, and well managed. For this phase, 11 IT controls were identified for SAP ECC. We were compliant with four, leaving seven that we implemented or revised by August 31. These IT controls will also be adapted for Salesforce and other business applications supported by the BA team to ensure our key systems are underpinned by sound practices.
The MSC migration to SAP ECC went live on Friday, October 1. As a follow-on activity, several legacy MSC tools will be archived once their data is exported and stored on a shared drive for reference. Product DB, Production DB, Purchase Req DB, and Chemical DB are retiring by way of the MSC SAP project.
Marketing is busy implementing the latest release of HubSpot, release 2.0. This effort includes streamlining the bi-directional interfaces between HubSpot and Salesforce, converting the Salesforce Country and State\Province fields from open-text fields to standardized pick-lists (based on SAP ECC values), and correcting existing country and state entries in Salesforce.
The BA team is one of many teams that just launched a project to move TCD U.S.A. into CDx operations by March 31, 2021. The BA team will be primarily focused on supporting data migration and user setup on SAP ECC and Salesforce, while business teams will be focused on other aspects like legal entity merge, inventory relocation, and so on.
