In 1999, Troponin became the preferred biomarker for myocardial infarction. Next-generation high-sensitivity troponin tests were introduced to the U.S. market in 2017, resulting in advancements in the speed and precision of patient results.
High-sensitivity troponin cardiac tests allow for lower level detection of Troponin, helping to detect even minute heart injuries more quickly and accurately. A negative test can also rule out heart damage from coronary heart disease.
